What is the process?

Your appointment will begin with a thorough consultation where we will discuss your desired results, brow shape, colour preferences, and what can realistically be achieved. A bespoke brow design will then be carefully mapped and pre-drawn for your approval. Once you are completely happy with the shape and style, the selected pigment will be gently implanted into the skin using advanced semi-permanent makeup techniques.

Following treatment, your brows will appear darker and more defined than the final healed result. As the healing process progresses over the following weeks, the colour will soften, settle, and reveal a more natural-looking finish that complements your features beautifully.

How long will they last?

The longevity of your semi-permanent brows will vary depending on factors such as your skin type, lifestyle, skincare routine, and sun exposure. Most clients choose to have a colour boost or maintenance appointment every 12–18 months to keep their brows looking fresh and defined.

Without maintenance, the pigment will gradually fade over time, typically becoming significantly lighter within 2–3 years. Factors such as UV exposure, active skincare ingredients including retinol and AHAs, frequent exfoliation, and oily skin can all accelerate the fading process. Regular aftercare and maintenance treatments will help preserve the colour and shape of your brows for longer.

What style of eyebrow is best for my skin?

Your skin type plays an important role in determining which semi-permanent makeup technique will achieve the best healed results. As every skin type responds differently to pigment retention, your treatment will be carefully tailored to suit your individual skin characteristics.

Dry Skin

Typically ideal for all brow techniques, including Nano Strokes and other hair stroke styles, as pigment retention is often excellent.

Normal Skin

Well suited to all brow techniques, offering the greatest flexibility when choosing your desired look.

Oily Skin

Powder and shading techniques generally provide the most reliable and long-lasting results, as hair strokes can soften and blur more quickly over time.

Combination Skin

Where oil is present, particularly through the T-zone and brow area, soft shading techniques are often recommended for the best longevity and definition.

Thick, Textured, Mature or Pore-Dense Skin

Clients with enlarged pores, deeper lines, wrinkles, or thicker skin texture may achieve the best results with soft powder brow techniques, which heal more evenly and naturally.

Scar Tissue

Brows can often be created over scar tissue; however, healed results can be less predictable than on unaffected skin. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve the desired outcome. Scar tissue must be fully healed and lighter than the surrounding skin before treatment can be performed. Areas that remain red, pink, or darker than the surrounding skin may not be suitable for tattooing.

What about my eyebrow hair?

When designing your brows, we work with your existing brow hair wherever possible to create the most natural-looking result. In some cases, a small amount of stray hair outside the chosen shape may need to be removed, but this will only be done with your consent.

The amount and density of your natural brow hair can influence which technique will achieve the best outcome. Clients with fuller or bushier brows often benefit from a soft powder or shading technique, which adds depth and background colour while enhancing the existing brow shape. Delicate hair stroke techniques can sometimes become less visible amongst dense natural hair.

For clients with sparse or minimal brow hair, there is often greater flexibility when choosing a brow style. Depending on your skin type and suitability, Nano Strokes or Hyper-Realistic Brow techniques can create beautifully natural-looking definition by replicating the appearance of individual brow hairs.

How will I look immediately after?

Immediately after your treatment, your brows will appear more defined and may look as though makeup has been applied. The depth of colour and overall intensity will depend on the technique chosen, with some styles appearing softer and others more prominent during the initial healing stage.

It is also normal to experience mild redness around the treatment area, as the skin has been gently worked during the procedure. This typically settles within a few days as the healing process begins.

Comprehensive aftercare instructions will be provided following your appointment and fully explained to ensure you achieve the best possible healed result.

Is it painful?

Most clients find microblading very tolerable, with discomfort often described as mild scratching or slight pressure rather than pain. To ensure your comfort, a topical numbing cream is applied before and throughout the procedure, helping to minimise any discomfort. Everyone's pain threshold is different, but the vast majority of clients are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the treatment is. Shauna will also check in with you throughout the appointment to ensure you remain as comfortable as possible.

Question 7

How long before and after can I have botox?

Accepted Answer

It is recommended to allow at least two weeks before or two weeks after your microblading appointment before having Botox treatments. This ensures the skin has adequate time to heal and helps achieve the best possible results from both procedures.
